Subject: 2009 Dues – SECOND DELINQUENT NOTICE SAMPLE #1
Dear Brother «LAST_NAME»,
As you can well imagine, the volunteer job of Secretary is quite time intensive. Along with my ongoing duties, which I can pretty much schedule from year to year, I also have the unpleasant duty of following up with preparing notices for non-payment of dues. Recently I have made over 34 phone calls and now am writing letters. This additional work for me and expense to the Lodge could be avoided if every member followed up on his affirmative answer to the question on his Petition for the Degrees of Freemasonry, which was: ‘In case of election, would you agree to pay your dues promptly at the beginning of the year?’.
If my records are inaccurate, if you are having financial difficulty, or if for any other reason you cannot remit your dues for ______, please contact me.
I sincerely request that you assist me in avoiding unnecessary letter writing by remitting your dues in the enclosed envelope, and return the invoice so that I can mail you your dues card for ________.
Thank you for understanding my dilemma and for your attention to this request.
I hope all is well with you.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Roger McKay, Secretary
