24-1 New Mason Education Plan Progress Chart OVERVIEW

Secretary’s How to Guide

New Mason Education Plan – Progress Checklist OVERVIEW

Why should the Lodge Secretary have a chart to keep progress of new Masons progressing through the degrees? The officers, instructors, mentors, committee members, and other workers in the Lodge change frequently. The Secretary is usually in office for several years. Also, the Secretary’s Office is where all permanent files are located.

It is the responsibility of the Lodge Instructors and Mentors to keep track of candidate progress and to ensure that the proper Masonic Education is offered throughout the Three Degrees journey. Therefore the Secretary at least has a copy of the Progress Chart to be available as time goes on. This chart is also helpful to be used as a reminder that pre and post Degree instruction is entered in the Minutes.

With this template, the Lodge will not have to re-invent the form. It can be customized to meet the specifics needs of any Lodge.

Refer to Chapter 37 in the Digest of Masonic Law for the Grand Lodge of Florida for further information on Initiation, Advancement, Proficiency, and required Masonic Education.
