25-1 Event Planning Suggestions OVERVIEW

Secretary’s How to Guide

Event Planning OVERVIEW

As stated before in the reference manual, records of successful events done in the past, should be filed in the Secretary’s office. Each year we see new officers being installed. Some have never organized an event, others need some thought provoking help in planning ahead, and others can contribute to this section by adding new ideas for more success in the future.

Prior to moving ahead with events, it is helpful for the officers and members involved to meet and discuss many of the topics included on page 25-2 Event Planning Discussion. It is a good starting point to draw ideas from each other, make a record of those ideas, and to form their plan on how to proceed.

Page 25-3 Event Planning Guide/Checklist provides a starting point in which additions and deletions can be made in accordance with the event being planned.

It is hoped that this section provides a starting point and impresses on those responsible for an event to plan ahead. Without planning, most events will not be successful. With planning, the probability is very high for SUCCESS.
