Voting Instructions (NOT Balloting)

After discussing business that requires a VOTE...............................

and after a motion has been made seconded, then..............................................

WM: All in favor of the motion will vote by the usual sign of a Mason at the sound of the gavel in the East.

WM: All opposed, same sign, same sound.

WM: Brethren, the motion has passed (failed).

WM: One rap with the gavel.

EXAMPLE: Voting on Petitions which have been completed by the Petitions Committee.

After a motion has been made and seconded to receive the petitions and for the petitions to take their usual course, the Worshipful Master will say................

WM: All in favor of the motion will vote by the usual sign of a Mason at the sound of the gavel in the East.

WM: All opposed, same sign, same sound.

WM: Brethren, the motion has passed (failed).

The Worshipful Master then appoints three Brethren to the INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE.

WM: Brother Secretary, the following brothers are on the Investigation Committee.
